I thought The Corrections was pretty much the minimum of what a decently-regarded book should be, not an exemplar of the best being written. What a lot of hurt and hope and tenderness there. Tired adage about showing, not telling. OK, there it is, ha ha, how frustrating.

The tide may seem relentless, sweeping hope away. As I wrote previously, my practice in the studio is essentially solitary, and that has isolated the work I have made in response to current events from most everyone else.
